Slant Memorials

Slant memorials offer many creative options for telling your loved one’s story.

What is a Slant Memorial?

A “slant” is the industry term for a headstone that is slanted on one side. They are similar to upright headstones and are designed to reach a maximum height of under 2 feet. Slant memorials offer many creative options for telling your loved one’s story, though they do tend to have limitations on design and lettering due to their smaller surface area.

Slant memorials are often more economical than upright memorials as they do not require a base; slants are most commonly comprised of a slant mounted directly to a foundation.

Our custom slant memorials are crafted using the domestic or international granite color(s) of your choosing. The Create A Legacy In Stone team is happy to show you our selection and help you make the right decision for your unique design.

Slant Memorial Sizing

The overall size of a memorial is limited only by budget and the rules and regulations of the cemetery. Memorials also cannot be larger than the burial space; a standard burial space is 4 feet wide and a two-grave lot is typically 8 feet wide.

For individual slant memorials, the most common and standard size is 24” L x 10” W x 16”H but can be made larger or smaller.

For companion slant memorials, the most common and standard size is 36” L x 10” W x 16” H. Companion memorials can range in size more broadly than individual memorials and lend themselves to creative use of the burial space.
